ON JAN. 1, THE RECYCLING fee collected on mattresses and foundations sold for use in California and Connecticut increased to $16 per unit. This increase is driven by rising minimum wages and inflation impacting operational costs for collecting, transporting and disassembling mattresses.
“We actively work to control costs and find efficiencies across our supply chains despite broad inflationary pressures,” said MRC's Chief Operating Officer Mike O’Donnell.
The recycling fees will remain a flat rate and must be visible on the receipt. For any questions or to request assistance with communicating this fee to your customers or staff, email info@ mrc-us.org.
